Having spent past Walpurgis nights in relative solitude for over a decade, the stars aligned now in such way, that this year I was invited to spend it together with fellow photographer and occultista Anna Krajewski. Above are a few impressions of our little sabbath, as we explored a chapel built in follow to the execution of the region’s last witch, and ventured on through the forest, as the blue hour began. Finally we came to sit among tree roots descending towards a lake, in the company of myriads of bats and various waterfowl, a swan and last but not least a grey heron, sliding elegantly across the water’s mirroring surface…
New series about the secret life taking place in the garden at night. Because these are sleepless summer nights and I am nocturnal again for various reasons.
I am spending most of my summer working and enjoying time in our garden. Hence dedicating again the monthly theme to this topic. The new flower beds are finished at last and new plants are added on a weekly basis. The black flower theme is coming along nicely. For more visit my garden blog.
The first evening of the year 2017 gave a magical sight: the sharp sickle of the waxing moon’s crescent aligned with Venus and Mars at around 7 pm. In addition one could see structures on the dark side of the moon, which are usually merge with the dark night sky and are not visible. Perhaps the sky was brighter tonight due to light being reflected by dust particles in the air from last night’s fireworks. The photos were taken at around 7 pm in Dresden Dölzschen.
This has been a magical evening spent with a friend, who has known me for over 25 years. It was her idea to go for a photo tour. Whatever she does, she gives 200%. She brought a tripod and heavy camera. I was the opposite: light camera, no tripod. I’m excited to see her photos. One thing is already for certain: we had a blast. Now we were not the only ones in town with a photo plan. At some places we had to wait for others, who had already set up their equipment to move. Seldom have I seen Dresden that busy on a Sunday night.
